The investigators uncovered a massive organised crime network that threatened wealthy European entrepreneurs with online smear campaigns that they would carry out if the victims did not submit to the extortion demands.

This cyber crime investigation lasted over 7 months. After the discoveries were fully analysed and documented, the Interpol and a number of German police jurisdictions used the data for further action.
