Premium Auto Dealer Defamed by Competitor
In this case our client, an auto dealer, was online defamed by competitor. This is a particularly pernicious case where an honest family owned auto dealer on East Coast United States shared sales leads with two or three local competitors. The sales leads were provided by third-party lead generation companies, and the leads were individuals who had expressed interest in purchasing a new vehicle. One of the dealer’s local competitors published false allegations against our client on RipOffReport.com, ComplaintsBoard.com, and two other websites that are often used as a platform for business disparagement and defamation.
Our client, defamed by competitor, had between three and four extremely damaging unfavorable search results on the first page of Google when the business name was searched. To make matters even worse, the competitor responsible for posting the false allegations would tell the individuals on the sales lead list to Google our client’s business name with the word “complaint” included in the search, for example “Acme Autos Ithaca Complaints” (name & city has been changed). With the inclusion of the word “complaint” in the Google search, the returned results were devastating.
Negative defaming results cleared within five weeks
Within five weeks, page1.me was able to completely clear the first page of Google for exact searches for the client’s business name i.e. “Acme Autos Ithaca”, and within seven weeks we were able to clear page 1 of Google for the inflammatory suggested search phrase of “Acme Autos Ithaca Complaints”.
Result in client’s profit
As a direct result of our success with these cases, the client reported that beginning on the week that we completely cleared the search results, the business’ total prospective clients physically through the door increased from the previous record of about 450 people per month, to almost 550. The client also testified that their profits increased that first month by almost $40,000, and that is clear profit not total sales!
