Class-Action Law Firm Targeted By “FirmNameSucks.Com” Smear Campaign
CASE STUDY
A senior attorney and chair of his firm’s national consumer class action practice was targeted by a sophisticated and comprehensive Internet smear campaign. The defamation had begun to cripple his new client intake prospects, and presumably caused significant financial harm to his personal income and that of his firm. The firm engaged a nationally recognized Internet reputation remediation company, but their efforts, although excellent by generally accepted search engine optimization standards, proved futile.
This large reputation management firm then reached out to Page1.me to help mitigate the damage being done to their attorney-client. Thereafter, Page1.me concentrated on sanitizing the first page of Google search engine results for the attorney’s personal name and firm name [i.e: “Firstname Lastname Law & Firm”.
While page1.me carried out these tasks, the Reputation Management firm concentrated on creating high quality, relevant, and timely content through various social networking and other online website platforms. This material was then fed into the page1.me process, and in turn, elevated above the defamatory attack URLs. The unfavorable content was then relegated to the “Google ghettos”, which is trade talk for page 2 of search results or beyond.
